What will I need to set up for my computer to work with SymphoniePRO?

The SymphoniePRO Desktop Application is used to configure your equipment before deployment and to convert your logger’s .RLD files during the measurement campaign. This is a 32-bit application compatible with Windows XP and later.

To enable MetLink ‘Logger Initiated’ capability a PC loaded with the SymphoniePRO Desktop Application software will need firewalls and routing configured so that when the logger connects to an IP address at a specified port, the connection can be routed to that specific machine on the local network (sometimes called port forwarding). With advances in internet usage, IT professionals are typically very familiar with this scenario. For example, setting up a video conference system shares some aspects of configuration with SymphoniePRO’s Logger Initiated mode. Note that this configuration only needs to happen once, and many loggers can all use the same settings. The SymphoniePRO Desktop Application software expects connections on port 30406.

In addition MetLink Logger Initiated configuration, MetLink ‘Logger Listening’ capability can be utilized from any PC using the SymphoniePRO Desktop Application with internet access. This connection style requires a static IP address at the logger via the iPack’s SIM card as opposed to the office network configuration described in the Logger Initiated section above.
