Variability of NRG TallTower Height

The variability is actually quite small as NRG must maintain a tight effective tube length tolerance, to assure that the precisely measured lifting wires lift the tower evenly.

The length of the tube may vary slightly, but the NRG flare-making process adjusts the depth to bring the tube into line, +/- 1/8". Given this tolerance (which is very conservative), the ACTUAL erected height could be +/- 2" - the range of variation would increase at middle and top guy ring locations (as the variances would accumulate, going up). Keep in mind that a + 1/8" variance in tube joint #1 could be cancelled out by a negative 1/8" variance at tube joint #2; the likelihood of 4" variance at top is very small.
