Reassembling an iPack - tips

The trick to reassembling an iPack is to always push the screw down till it stops against the enclosure. Then while pushing down with a light pressure, turn the screw counter-clockwise till you feel the screw click into the original threads. If there is more than one set of threads because this technique was not used previously you may have to try again. You will know when it's the correct threads because the screws will go in relatively easy. This works very well with the standard iPack but is more difficult with an iPack with an extender installed. This is because of the extra level of O-rings at the base of the extender. They will cause the screws to want to back out while your trying to find the threads but it can be done Note: The screws that are on the same side as the DB25 connector (you will be looking at the connector when putting these 2 in) have 2 more threads in the plastic than the 2 on the other side. These are more than likely the ones that will get stuck. To make things even more difficult the screws go 1/4 deeper on the extended iPack. (Screws don't come in 2.75" length) We have to use a cordless drill to put them in for the first time & if we stop it can be real difficult to get them moving again on the extended iPacks. We also use the drill when reassembling but you should still manually start the screw to not cross thread. Makita model 6226D, torque setting of 14, high speed setting. "
