Connecting extra PV panels to the iPack
Under most conditions, the normal Symphonie PV Panel | 15W provides adequate solar charging for the iPack. On very rare occasions, certain users have asked if they can go to 20W of PV. Although generally unnecessary, in some situations it may be advantageous to add a 5W PV panel to create a total of 20W.
The only situation where it might not be a good idea to use this size panel is if the iPack battery is completely dead and the 20W panel is connected on a day with very bright sun, causing it to generate the maximum amount of power. This could cause the charge controller to overheat. However, under normal circumstances (connecting the 20W solar panel to an iPack with a healthy, charged battery), this is not an issue and using the 20W panel will not cause any damage to the iPack.
