Connecting a wind vane to the extra analog channel of a 9200-PLUS

Connecting a vane to the extra analog channel of a 9200-PLUS will not work. The reason is that the NRG Logger vane channels are designed to do unit vector" averaging. Consider the case where the wind direction is out of the North. For example: the logger reads one sample at 5 then one at 355 (in reality many more samples would be taken and averaged, but with the same result). The analog channel would average the samples (5 + 355)/2 = 180, when clearly, the correct answer is 360 for winds out of the North. There is no way to post-process data from the extra analog channel because the logger's vane channels perform the calculations and correct averages as the data are being acquired and stored.
