As scrutiny around renewable investments intensifies, the need for trusted, bankable data has never been greater. Before a single turbine is installed or a solar panel is mounted on a utility-scale project, developers, investors, and lenders rely on high-quality resource assessment data to evaluate project viability, secure financing, and mitigate risk.
With more than 40 years of experience delivering industry-leading resource measurement solutions, NRG Systems understands what it takes to capture and leverage the accurate, reliable data that underpins successful renewable energy project development. Since its founding, NRG has consistently invested in research and development to create cutting-edge tools for best-in-class resource measurements. We ensure that data collected by these devices is always accessible, empowering users with full control over their measurement campaigns.
LOGR | Met, our next-generation data logger, was purpose-built to deliver the high-quality measurements and reliable data availability essential to bankable resource assessment campaigns. Designed to meet the rigorous demands of modern wind and solar development, LOGR | Met supports financial success from day one.
Why Bankability Begins with Resource Measurement
Wind and solar resource assessment campaigns are the first step in the lifecycle of a renewable energy project, guiding critical decisions such as site selection, turbine or solar array layout, energy yield modeling, and financial forecasting. For this resource assessment data to be considered “bankable” – that is reliable and robust enough to instill confidence in investors and lenders – it must be:
- Accurate: Collected using calibrated, standards-compliant sensors and loggers.
- Dependable: Captured continuously, even in remote or harsh environments.
- Secure: Transmitted and stored in ways that protect data integrity.
- Transparent: Easily accessible, auditable, and traceable to original sources.
LOGR | Met was designed with these requirements in mind.
Built for Accuracy
LOGR | Met supports a wide range of wind and solar sensors, including analog, serial, and counter channel-based sensors. It offers up to 48 serial channels, 16 analog channels, and 10 counter channels, supporting comprehensive wind a solar resource assessment campaigns from a single device. It also supports calculated channels for key solar metrics, such as DNI, Albedo, and Solar Zenith Angle, helping teams validate data quality and rapidly troubleshoot anomalies.
IEC standards are globally recognized guidelines to ensure consistency, accuracy, and comparability of measurement practices across renewable energy projects. These standards provide a common framework that allows developers, operators, and financiers to trust that the data collected is reliable and bankable.
LOGR | Met is compliant with:
- IEC 61724-1 for solar resource monitoring
- IEC 61400-12 for wind energy applications
Independent engineers and financial institutions often require these standards as part of the due diligence process. With LOGR | Met, you can be confident that your data meets the expectations of the most discerning stakeholders.
Designed for Dependable Deployment and Data Delivery
Decades of experience with remote wind masts and solar resource measurement stations has taught NRG the importance of protecting fielded equipment and protecting site data. NRG Systems has developed a range of enclosures to protect the LOGR | Met against harsh environmental conditions ensuring reliable data collection. The LOGR | Met is designed into a compact, DIN rail-mountable housing and has removable terminal blocks with clearly labeled ports make installation straightforward and less prone to error. Whilst the enclosure protects the LOGR | Met against dust and water ingress, NRG Systems’ range of surge protection is designed to protect the LOGR | Met, connected sensors, and other electronic equipment against electrical surges or interference. NRG has developed a complete solution to protect your equipment and ultimately your data.
As part of the NRG ecosystem, LOGR | Met integrates seamlessly with our towers, sensors, and digital services. This end-to-end integration – from installation through data delivery – reduces complexity, ensures consistence performance, and provides the confidence that your measurements are always accurate, secure, and ready to strengthen project bankability.
Secure, Redundant Data Handling
LOGR | Met captures data at 1 Hz and averages it into user-defined intervals (1, 5, or 10 minutes). Stored data can easily be exported via secure file transfer protocols like SFTP and SMTP, to NRG Cloud, or a destination of your choice. It also supports Modbus TCP/RTU for on-site SCADA integration.
LOGR | Met’s secure, browser-based interface uses HTTPS encryption to protect communication during both local and remote access. User authentication is required, and access credentials can be tailored to meet your organization’s security policies.
In the event of communication loss, encrypted data remains safely stored on the device’s microSD card. Together, these features ensure that your high accuracy data is secure, accessible, and always backed up.
Beyond security, LOGR | Met is built for auditability. Every change to system settings is recorded in a comprehensive change log, giving site owners and independent engineers complete transparency into device configuration history. Data files are encrypted at the source and can be mirrored to NRG Cloud, preserving a verified “single source of truth” that cannot be tampered with or altered. This assurance means stakeholders can trust the integrity of the dataset – an essential requirement for project validation, independent review, and long-term bankability.
Ready to Build with Confidence?
LOGR | Met is more than a data logger – it is the foundation of bankable resource assessment. By de-risking projects, streamlining measurement campaigns, and delivering data that buoys investor confidence, LOGR | Met sets the stage for long-term success.
