Symphonie filename format and explanation for receiving files with the .rw extension instead of .rwd
The Symphonie filename format:
SSSSYYYYMMDDFFF.rwd (new filename format)
SSSSYYYYMMDDFF.rwd (original filename format)
Where
S = Site
Y = Year
M = Month
D = Day
F = File position
During development of the Symphonie system, NRG engineers added a two digit "file number" to the Symphonie filename format. This was used during product development as a handy tool to debug file issues. The file number represents the position of the file on the MMC, and allows you to track what order the files arrived in your email.
The file number was so useful, we decided to keep it in the final filename format. An improvement was made in September 2002 to make the filename format to allow for a three digit file number. The change was implemented in MMC rev 006 and iPack rev 009.
From the above you can see that iPacks that have a revision less than 009 when connected to a logger that has a revision XXX-006 or higher the filename will be passed without the "d"...this is expected.
SDR picks up the truncated filename automatically...SDR automatically recognizes the rw file as well as the rwd file extension.
