USB to Serial Converters and Windows Vista

Some customers have reported problems connecting their iPacks to computers that are running Microsoft's Windows Vista. In some instances, the iPack will seem to have connected properly, but then the connection will fail unexpectedly.

We have found that this problem can relate to the device driver for the USB converter. Since Windows Vista is still a relatively new operating system, many hardware distributions include only the proper drivers for Windows XP. While the device will appear to install properly, it may be installing the Windows XP drivers.
