Text files exported from SDR for the same date range have the same header information but different scaled values

The header information shown in text files exported from SDR software indicates the scale factors and offsets in the Site File at the time the export was generated.

However, the exported data are scaled according to the scale factors and offsets in the Site File when the raw (*.rwd) files were originally imported into the SDR database.

If a change to a scale factor or offset is made in SDR’s Site Information Editor screen, and the *.rwd files are not re-imported, the header information of the exported *.txt file will show current scale and offset values, not the values used to convert the data when they were imported into SDR’s database.

To ensure that the header information of the exported *.txt matches the values used to convert the data when they were imported into SDR’s database, re-import raw files after making any changes in the Site Information Editor, or use SDR’s "Sensor History" function to document changes. This allows the software can identify the point in the data at which the change takes effect and scale accordingly.

Remember to re-import your data after making any changes in the Site Information Editor!
