Installing NRG sensors on a lattice tower

There are a variety of opinions regarding the recommended distance between the sensors and tower, but three times the lattice tower face width seems to be a popular guideline.

However, in cases where that's not possible, we recommend putting the sensor at least 1-2 face widths directly into the prevailing wind direction (or at least downwind from the direction of the fewest winds).

Most Rohn lattice towers have a face width of 18 - 24 inches (46 - 61 cm), so mounting booms need to keep the sensors at least 48 - 72 inches (1.2 - 1.8 m) from the nearest tower leg.
