#21444 ROCKREMOTE MINI SATELLITE KIT, TUBULAR
#21445 ROCKREMOTE MINI SATELLITE KIT, LATTICE

The Symphonie iPackACCESS | RockREMOTE Mini Satellite Kit is an internet-enabled communications and autonomous power system for the SymphoniePRO® Data Logger - Wind and Solar. By integrating Ground Control’s RockREMOTE Mini satellite terminal, with Iridium’s Certus 100 global satellite network, the system enables reliable remote communications, delivering measurement data to your desktop from virtually anywhere, including locations where cellular coverage is limited, unreliable, or unavailable.

Designed for low-power operation, the kit extends SymphoniePRO’s satellite communications capabilities while providing dependable data delivery for even the most remote resource measurement sites.

Each RockREMOTE Mini terminal includes an Iridium SIM card, with service activated through Ground Control’s Cloudloop IoT platform. Flexible communication scheduling and multiple data delivery options provide redundant paths for transmitting critical measurement data.

Once connected, remote MetLink sessions provide secure access to both the data logger and iPackACCESS, allowing users to:

  • Download data files automatically or on demand (alternative to SMTP email)
  • View live measurement data for remote site health checks

  • Modify data logger and iPack configuration settings

  • Perform remote firmware updates to the data logger and iPack

Data Logger Connection

The iPackACCESS connects directly to the Ethernet port on the back of the SymphoniePRO Data Logger and interfaces with the RockREMOTE Mini terminal via Ethernet RockREMOTE while simultaneously supplying 12 V power. The data logger and iPack mount securely to the SymphoniePRO shelter box using four screws.

Power Supply

The iPackACCESS includes two (2) rechargeable 12 V, 2.2 mAh sealed lead-acid (SLA) batteries with terminals for power in (via PV or external battery) as well as power out (to power the RockREMOTE Mini terminal). The battery charging circuit is designed for use with an external NRG 15 W PV panel, which connects to terminals on the side of the iPack.

Please Note: RockREMOTE compatibility requires an iPackACCESS with a serial number 716900300 or higher. These units include smart-switched 12 V power-out terminals for the RockREMOTE Mini module, as well as double the battery capacity required to support RockREMOTE Mini. Earlier iPackACCESS units cannot be upgraded or retrofitted for compatiblility.

Satellite Antenna

Each kit ships with an Iridium-certified antenna, mounted to the SymphoniePRO shelter box using a magnetic mount. Because RockREMOTE Mini’s Iridium Certus 100 connectivity is omnidirectional, no antenna alignment is required. For optimal performance, install the antenna with the clearest possible line of sight toward the north and south of the installation, ideally on the east or west side of the tower to accommodate the pole-to-pole orbit of the  Iridium satellite constellation.

Accounts and Programming

The iPackACCESS | RockREMOTE Mini Satellite kit requires Iridium satellite airtime service, provisioned through Ground Control’s Cloudloop IoT platform. Each RockREMOTE Mini ships with a pre-installed Iridium SIM card and  Cloudloop activation instructions.

Following activation, Ground Control provides an information package containing the SMTP server settings for automated data delivery, along with an optional public static IP address for remote MetLink connectivity. These settings should be programmed into the iPackACCESS before deployment.
