Testing a Rain Gauge-Tipping Bucket
Tools Required:
Digital voltmeter (DVM)
Instructions:
- Disconnect the Rain Gauge from the logger.
- Set your Digital Volt Meter (DVM) to resistance.
- Place leads across the two wires from Rain Gauge, and tip the bucket manually.
- You should see the resistance change momentarily from infinite to short circuit (0 ohms) as the switch engages.
Note: The Rain Gauge uses a simple reed switch for the output.
