Keeping the Symphonie logger clock set correctly - time servers that work for Symphonie

UPDATE: 7/27/2011:

Recently, some servers have stopped supporting the RFC-868 protocol.

Please choose from these servers for your iPack:

  • wwv.nist.gov
  • nist1-atl.ustiming.org
  • utcnist.colorado.edu

More time servers can be found here: http://tf.nist.gov/tf-cgi/servers.cgi

Symphonie loggers with iPacks are capable of checking any Internet time server that is compliant with RFC 868 (which respond to requests on port 37); just specify the Internet time server name when configuring the iPack parameters. Each time the logger calls and is logged on to the ISP account, it will automatically send a request to the specified internet time server and reset the logger clock if necessary.

Remember, this is a server name - not a complete URL.

Time servers that NO LONGER work for Symphonie:

  • time-a.nist.gov
  • time-b.nist.gov
  • sundial.columbia.edu
  • utcnist.colorado.edu
  • nist1.symmetricom.com
