How does SDR create 60 minute Standard Deviation (SD) values from 10 minute data?

All Symphonie raw data is always recorded as 10 minute averaged data. NRG SDR software has the ability to import the raw 10 minute data and then export 60 minute averaged data.

In this case, the 60 minute SD is generated as follows:

  • Add up the squares of the SD's
  • Divide by number of intervals (6 per hour)
  • Take the square root

In other words, the 60 minute SD values are the square root of the average of the squares of the 10 minute values.
