RNRG Delivers Turbine Control Solutions to Southern China

This October, Dave Carlson and Barry Dugan spent two weeks in China—a trip that brought them from Beijing to Nansan Island, Zhanjiang, Guangdong province, and eventually to the Puding county, Anshun, Guizhou province in the country’s southwestern region. The purpose of the visit was two-fold: to install Hybrid XTs on two existing turbines in vastly different environments, and to attend the 2016 China WindPower Conference.

White Paper: Power Performance Testing with Stand-Alone WINDCUBE Lidar

An understanding of individual wind turbine performance at any modern wind farm is critical. The characterization of turbine efficiency is a necessary first step for detecting underperformance, evaluating turbine upgrades, refinancing or reselling a project, identifying degradation in performance over time and, increasingly, for wind farm owners trying to decide whether to invest in contractual power performance testing within the first year of plant operations per the IEC 61400-12-1:2005 standard.

A WINDCUBE Lands in Massachusetts

High-fidelity, hub-height wind measurement has arrived off the south coast of Massachusetts thanks to a newly installed Windcube® Vertical Profiling Lidar. Woods Hole Oceanographic Institution (WHOI), working with AWS Truepower of Albany, New York, has installed the Windcube at WHOI’s Martha’s Vineyard Coastal Observatory (MVCO), located two miles south of Martha’s Vineyard in the Outer Continental Shelf.

RNRG Adds Calibrated 200P Wind Vane to Product Line

RNRG is proud to announce that we now offer a wind tunnel calibrated 200P wind vane. Constructed of thermoplastic and stainless steel, the calibrated version of this durable and widely used sensor provides assurance that the wind vane is working properly before it is installed on a met tower.
