In 1979, the Carter administration installed 32 solar panels at the White House. The panels, which were used to heat domestic water, were dismantled during the Reagan Era and remained in storage until they were acquired by Unity College in Maine in the '90s.

Decades later one of those panels made its way to Vermont, now sitting at the heart of NRG Systems headquarters in Hinesburg.
