The NRG Systems #40H anemometer is an unheated three-cup anemometer that provides high precision wind speed measurements. The #40H has diverse applications including turbine control and wind resource assessment.
The #40H features a Hall Effect switch, which produces a high level square wave voltage signal with a frequency proportional to wind speed. This signal is easy to interface to wide range of turbine controllers, programmable logic controllers (PLCs), and data loggers. A 5-26 V DC excitation voltage with 5 mA of current is required.
The #40H is based on the NRG Systems #40C anemometer, the industry-standard anemometer used worldwide. This design is recognized for its reliability and aerodynamic performance. The Hall Effect version is designed for electrically noisy environments and instrumentation requiring a square wave signal.
NRG Systems #40C anemometers have recorded wind speeds as high as 96 m/s (214 mph). Their low moment of inertia and unique bearings permit very rapid response to gusts and lulls.
The NRG Systems #40H is constructed of rugged Lexan cups molded in one piece for repeatable performance.
A PVC terminal boot is included.
