Hinesburg, VT (USA)
- NRG Systems, Inc., a
leading manufacturer of wind energy measurement systems for the global
wind energy industry, introduced a new satellite communications package
bundle for its Symphonie™ data logger. The Symphonie™ Satellite iPack
Bundle includes startup prepaid service for data transfer via satellite.
“We have packaged the iPack Bundle to make getting started with data
transfer via satellite an easy decision,” said Greg Erdmann, NRG’s
Sales Manager.
The Symphonie Iridium Satellite iPack now includes 400 minutes for
data transfer and a waiver of start up and monthly line fees in a
prepaid package which lowers the cost of using satellite data transfer
services.
This new package also comes with MichMailTM, a new service from
Wireless Innovation, MichMail includes dedicated in-house servers that
communicate directly with data loggers in the field via satellite
rather than having to go through commercial Internet service providers
to send data via email. This greatly reduces call time during data
transfer while providing more secure and reliable downloads via
satellite.
“While cellular technologies are the logical choice for regions of
the world with reliable service, there are many places that have either
poor service or none at all,” said Erdmann, “With our new Iridium iPack
bundle, the pole-to-pole coverage provided by the Iridium satellite
network is the ideal solution for those regions where cellular service
has difficulty.” NRG Systems also continues to offer data transfer
capabilities using GSM and CDMA cellular technologies.
NRG
Systems sees many of their customers going into more remote areas of
the world where the Iridium satellite service is a reliable way to
transfer data for wind energy resource assessment back to the company.
Price has usually been a constraint with using satellite service, but
this new bundled package allows for more precise, reliable and
economical data transfer.
Celebrating 25 years in the wind energy industry, NRG Systems,
