Vermont artist unveils Windfarm Vermont commissioned by NRG Systems
|
|
Vermont (USA)–Renowned Vermont printmaker Sabra Field recently revealed her latest, and last, commissioned artwork, Windfarm, Vermont, at the Blue Heron Gallery in South Burlington, Vermont.
The 19" by 11" IRIS print depicts six graceful wind turbines atop a Vermont mountain ridge, ablaze with fall color. The framed version measures 27" x 19.5". Only 200 of the limited edition signed prints will be sold. They are available to the public at the gallery and are also for sale on the NRG Systems website.
"Wind turbines are a beautiful part of our cultural landscape," says Field. "They are beautiful in themselves – kinetic sculptures on the skyline."
NRG Systems of Hinesburg, Vermont commissioned the work. "We are thrilled and honored to have played a role in the creation of this beautiful piece of art," says company CEO Jan Blittersdorf. "Sabra Field is a premier artist who truly represents the values of Vermont. "
Field has lived in Vermont since 1969 when she opened a studio to publish her hand-pulled wood block prints. Prints by Sabra Field have been the subject of over 50 one-person exhibitions since 1960. They have also been included in numerous national and international juried exhibitions.
NRG Systems, founded in 1982 by David Blittersdorf, manufactures wind energy measurement systems for the global wind industry. The company’s 46,000-square-foot headquarters building is one of only four manufacturing facilities in the world to have received LEED (Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design) gold-level certification from the U.S. Green Building Council.
