Burlington, VT - NRG Systems of Hinesburg, VT, and owners
David and Jan Blittersdorf, were just awarded "Employer of the Year" by
the Burlington Business and Professional Women Association (BPW) at its
annual meeting this October.
NRG Systems, Inc., manufactures
wind assessment systems for electrical power generation. The company,
founded by Dave and Jan Blittersdorf in 1982, currently employs 30
people and is regarded as a world leader in the wind energy industry.
The
Burlington Business and Professional Women Association, a national
organization promoting the interests and advocacy of women in business,
applauded NRG Systems, Inc., for providing employees with generous
benefits and pension programs, as well as ongoing training and
education for continual employee improvement. In addition to
traditional workplace quality issues, the 50 year-old professional
women's organization looks for businesses that are flexible to the
needs of working women with families, including cafeteria plan medical
insurance, profit sharing, 401K/retirement plans, parental and family
leave and childcare programs.
"We are very proud of this
award," said Jan Blittersdorf, vice-president and CFO of the company,
"as it touches us at the heart of what makes our company so successful
- our employees." The manufacturer of wind energy measuring equipment
has experienced 30-40% growth in the last several years and has put
tremendous effort in employee training and retention. "We strive to
have a harmonious working climate where employees are respected as
individuals with lives and families outside of the job." Blittersdorf
continued. "And we understand that to have dedicated, well-trained
people on our staff, we need to be flexible to their needs and
schedules, especially when it comes to kids."
David and Jan
Blittersdorf reside in Charlotte. More information on NRG Systems,
Inc., and its business policies, is available at its website at
