 Before joining NRG Systems, John served as Senior Vice President for Operations and Chief Operating Officer for BBT North American Corporation (formerly, Controlled Energy Corporation).
His extensive experience as a senior executive encompasses strategic and business planning; business model development; and change, crisis and turnaround management. For seven years he ran his own consulting business, H.J. Norton and Company. John is Vice President of the board of directors for Yestermorrow Design Build School, on the board of directors for Friends of the Mad River, and served for six years as a selectman in Warren, Vermont.
John’s outside interests include spending time with his family, canoeing, alpine and Nordic skiing, fishing, traveling and reading. He earned a bachelor’s degree in philosophy at Williams College in Massachusetts.
